The Story
When you have a sick child being cared for in a hospital far away from home, the last thing you want to worry about is where you’re going to eat and sleep. At Ronald McDonald House Charities South Central Ontario, we provide that food and accommodations for families; we take care of the basics, so families can focus on care for their sick child.
When partnering with companies looking to make a difference in their communities, we get excited when their employees are part of the giving equation too! Partners like Meridian Credit Union.
With a commitment to invest in the communities they serve, an expertise in community-focused partnerships, and a core commitment to engage their employees in their giving, Meridian came to the table with a bold challenge – to team up with RMHC alumni families in April, and Pay it Forward for Families.
In one month, Meridian Credit Union employees made contributions through their employee giving portal, volunteered at our House to make dinners for our families, and FUNdraised in-branch alongside family teams.
With the power of our Meridian partnership, and the motivation of RMHCSCO Alumni Families, our Pay it Forward for Families FUNdraiser raised over $122,509 this year!
At RMHC South Central Ontario, $122,509 is profound. It’s over 600 nights of accommodations for a family; 8 months of dinners; welcome kits and hospital care packages for over 2000 families.
Our mission does not take a day off. Our ability to be there for families when they need it most, is made possible through the support of our donors. So, let's continue to pay it forward for those families who need it the most.
