A Place of Respite for Families
Ronald McDonald House Charities® South Central Ontario operates two Ronald McDonald Family Rooms located on the third floor of McMaster Children's Hospital in Hamilton. These rooms serve as places of respite where families can grab a coffee or a bite to eat or relax and experience a sense of normalcy without having to leave their child in hospital.
Anyone with a child being treated at McMaster Children's Hospital is invited to use either of our two Family Rooms, along with siblings and other family members.
The rooms are equipped with complimentary snacks and refreshments as well as a kitchenette and dining area. They also include a cozy sitting areas with television and fireplace, and a space for computer access with internet. We also offer various programming including crafts, books, and toys for children.
Happy Wheels Hospitality Cart
The Happy Wheels Cart is a mobile hospitality service that brings comfort and care to families in McMaster Children's Hospital.
Stocked with snacks, beverages, and other essentials, the cart is pushed through hospital hallways by volunteers, offering a little extra support to families who can’t leave their child’s bedside.
The Happy Wheels Cart runs Monday to Friday from 9 - 11 A.M.
